  1. It doesnt mean anything then what is in the atmosphere.

  2. That there is dust in the atmosphere between you and the horizon. The red band of the light beam is bent so you see that color.

  3. The Moon itself is always white except once or twice a year during a lunar eclipse. It appears red at times due to pollution in the atmosphere over the place you are observing from. Often this is due to a buildup of smog, and usually occurs when there is an inversion layer and very little atmospheric movement, usually hot and humid.

  4. If you see an orange/Red moon then it is a lunar eclipse.

This is when the Earth is directly in between the Sun and the Moon, causing Earth's shadow to fall on the moon.

Now you would say that if this were true then wouldn't the moon be black?. Yes that would be true, HOWEVER, the Earth is much smaller than the sun so the sun isn't completely blocked out.

A bit of the sun's outer layer is seen and so the light (small amount) is actually a reflection from the atmosphere and such, making the moon appear reddish in color.

  5. It means that your looking at the moon through a lot of the Earths atmosphere and the light coming off of the moon to your eyes is refracting light and changing the colors.
