I mean, if someone is in the Olympics, and they don't get a Gold, Silver or Bronze medal, do they get anything at all? Like a certificate, or a shirt, or at least some pins or something?

  1. They get wonderful parting gifts:

Vanna tell them what they've won....

  2. The honor of merely getting to compete alongside the world's most elite athletes, and the pride of representing their country.

    ...And maybe some endorsements lol

  3. In addition to the medals for the Top 3 finishers, athletes who finish in places 1st to 8th get what they call an "Olympic diploma".

The rest of the participants get the glory of competing in the biggest sport event in the world. Being able to be there is a victory by itself.

  4. To be on tv...

  5. Local endorsements, pride, and great memories.

  6. The pride and joy of being there in the first place.

  7. They might get a certificate of some sort, but nothing big enough to be proud of or special, or else the competitors would look less angry/depressed/just-downright-pissed when the lose. Of course they pick up small pins and stuff like that when they first arrive. They probably can buy that stuff too.

  8. Glory.

  9. I'm sure they get a t-shirt and probably get to the keep the uniform, like the swimsuit or leotard. They also get to keep that sheet with their number on it. Yeah, that's about it. I heard that the Chinese athletes have to walk home if they lose.

  10. Nope, they get nothing. Except the respect of others knowing they did their best!

Also, every olympian get "goodies" when they arrive. Stuff like bags, shirts, souvenirs...

  11. Depressed?
