What do Oscar Fish eggs look like??

I have 2 oscars. They always dig holes in the rocks. They make this wavy sort of pattern at the botom of the tank with the rocks. We just cleaned the fish tank and the water and now these white small egg shaped things are floating around. We dont feed them that kind of food that looks sorta like that and if we did they would have ate them up. We never over feed them. One of the fishes eyes are like a red ruby. The other one's is brown or black. Is this how u can tell if they are a boy or girl and if they are both girls or both boys what are these little white egg looking things??

Well i cant tell you if ther eggs but they mit be ick that sticks on the fish and is a minor deiseas.Its small and white. Other than that it mit be eggs.

It is very difficult to tell whether oscars are male or female. You can vent them which requires taking them out of the water to physically exam them...not really worth it. The eggs are small and white but usually stick to surfaces. They are usually laid in a batch all together. If they are fertile eggs they turn a more tannish color.

Even if you have 2 females, they will lay eggs...just no results, of course.

I have a mating pair of O's. The only way I could tell which was male and which was female was to actually see the female lay eggs.

If they lay eggs they will be stuck together on a rock and the fish will guarding and cleaning them.

It's possible you have scraps of old food that have grown mould and are floating around the tank. I would do an extra water change and clean out as much as possible.
