What do Packer fans think about Favre going to the Jets?

I. as a Bear fan, think a major blow has been dealt to the Pack in terms of talent,(and for us Bear fans that's a good thing), but the way he's been acting lately, maybe people feel "good riddance". Thoughts?

I'm a Packer fan living in NY. I'm relieved that this is finally over. One part of me is happy that he is now a Jet. I can still watch him play (More games than usual). But I wish he was still a Packer.

I'm a little torn on this one.  I am glad that Brett and the Pack have finally agreed on something and this is finally over.  However, I feel this has entirely been handled poorly by the Packers management from the beginning.  Being a true Packers fan, I will cheer on my team, but still feel that Ted Thompson and Mike McCarthy should be fired for the p**s poor management of the entire situation.  It will be sad to see Brett in a Jets jersey, it's something I thought I would never see, but I wish the best to him and his family in NY

I am happy. Very happy on three counts.

One.. He is not going to a team in the NFC! Smart move to satisify the packers fans..

Two.. the poison pill placed to make sure he does not go to Minesota, if he is traded, the Packers get 5 draft picks!!

Three.. we don't need prima donnas in Green Bay.. get out of there wussie!

Had they not forced him to decide so early on what he was going to do I think things would have turned out differently.

I was pissed off i think he should have just stayed retired as a packer, but at this point i just moved on and welcome new quarterback Aaron Rodgers

Well it depends on if the person is a TRUE Packers fan. I have followed the Pack before Favre and will continue to now that he's gone. Favre did so much for Green bay during his time there and Favre and the Packers had to make a business decision. That's what the NFL is, a business. I'm glad the Packers can finally move forward and start putting this situation behind them, but I still wish Brett the best of luck in NY

The Packer brass are complete morons!  The goal of any professional sport is to WIN, and Brett gives them a much better chance to win than Rodgers.  Saying that Brett does not have the proper mindset is a cop out.  He was fine.  It was the organization that didn't want him and pushed him away.  I hope that the Packers never win another game, that the GM and coach get fired and that Brett has a super year.

Well being a Brett Favre and GB Packers fan for years, its going to be wierd.  He is basically going from country back door place, to the glory of the big city in NY.  Im glad he is though, the Jets could use a QB, Chad never was what he was suppose to be.  They brought in some talent this year and Favre can really help this team out, look at his stats from last year.  

I am just glad he didnt go back to GB, McCarthy and Thompson are the biggest losers in the NFL right now.  They didnt want Favre from the get go and they dont have him now.  Instead, they got a QB who has never started an NFL game, and that his QB rating over 10 yards is 33.0, good luck McCarthy and Thompson!!! Understand yes, that they did offer Brett a chance to come back to GB, but really??  How welcome can you feel when they try to buy you out so u can stay home????  I would be an *** to GB too!

This really Frosts My Cookie!  I am glad it is over, but I think so much less of Favre now.

I feel like my wife has left me.  He was Green Bay through and through, but now he has completely ruined that.  I hope he plays for a year with the Jets, decides it is not the same and retires.  I hope the only games they win are against New England.

This tarnishes his legacy, and depending on what he does from here on out, he may ruin his legacy completely.  I will remain a die-hard Packers fan with a spite for Favre now.

Actually Brett Farve is going to the Jets.  A few hours ago, it was reported that he was traded by the Packers to the Jets.  

Read this article to confirm this for yourself.  I was just as stunned as most that have already heard this.

It was also reported that the Jets will releast Chad Pennington so as it stands Favre will be a Jet for at least this season.  Its a big shock for me because I thought he would always remain a Packer, but those things happen in the NFL..

*Edit, sorry I misread the question, I thought you were asking why.  Well to answer your origninal question, as I stated it was a big shock to me.  I'm not a GB fan, but I thought he would remain in GB because it seemed that he wanted to finish his career there.  But now that makes the Jets more of a contender with Favre.  It will be hard work but it can be done..*
