  1. phillie drafted him, & he wanted a huge amount of money. Turns out they didn't sign him, & he played independent leagues, then re-entered draft the next year

  2. Drew was originally drafted by the Phillies but refised to sigh becuase of the terrible fans.  He played for the St. Paul Saints in the Northern League and then was drafted by the Cardinals and signed.

  3. Because he was originally drafted by the Phillies and said that he would never play in Philadelphia.  He hated the city and the fans and was not afraid to say so.  He actually took less money from the Cardinals just so he wouldn't have to sign with the Phillies.  They have hated him ever since.

For those of you who have stated that it was a money issue, you're wrong.  It was never a money issue but it was the excuse used just so he wouldn't have to go to Philadelphia.

  4. They did?

  5. Yeah, they used to throw batteries at him, lol. This is from Wikipedia

Drew was the second overall pick in the 1997 Major League Baseball Draft by the Philadelphia Phillies. Drew and his agent Scott Boras elected not to sign with the Phillies, sticking to their guarantee that they would not sign for less than $10 million. The Phillies had no plan to pay an unproven player this amount of money, and despite Boras' warnings, drafted Drew nonetheless.

  6. wow no wonder my friends call him acid in the club house
