I want to join the RN as an MCDO and serve my full career.

I was just curious as to what full-service officers tend to do upon retirement, and what the pension is like? Thanks!

PS, I want to run my own diving school when I retire.

  1. All kinds of stuff - many want to do something stress free to compensate for the horrendous burn out that many suffer as a RN Officer.  Others like to do things more exciting.  I know several people who have left after 8 years to become lawyers, one a doctor, and I left to become an airline pilot.  I know others running their own businesses and others delivering the post....

  2. Lighthouse keeper

    Ferryboat captain

    Harbourmaster

  3. after retirement, YOU enjoy life! grow your hair long, don't shave, do what you feel like doing or nothing at all!

work part-time, if you want to!

start your own business or work for the government as a civilian or sign on as a contractor in the middle east or a mercenary or join the French Foreign Legion!
