  1. the whole maid thing is a big problem here

this report unveil only one problem of it. in reality, i don't know to which magnitude the problem is. like out of 100 maids, how many suffer kind of humilation.

in general, when you see the big families here, you won't find such problems at all. in contrary, you will find maids enjoy deep respect and very good relations.

lately, i came across a great example, they are a close relative, where i saw a 10 years old girl speaks fluent local language but looks totally not local. i knew she is a daughter of the maid who was born and raised inside that family and plays together with their kids and study their studies. she calls herself with the last name of that family.

i know different examples where maids converted to islam because of the good examples they witnessed.

yes, there are other bad stories, it is our human nature, when you can have power over the weaks, some abuse it.

there is other side, which we, as local, are always concerned about it. there are different crimes that are committed from maids. stealing, killing, prostitution, and witchcraft is not very unusual.

there are local gangs, with strong networks, for illegal immegratns. it became quiet normal, that a maid will fly from indonesia or phillipines to saudi, and she knows which number to call, to disappear after few days of arrival.

it happened twice to us. one of them, she called back crying she wanna go back to our house.

i know a friend who had maid for 8 years, and then she sued them claiming she never received a single salary. they were too kind that they never took salary receipts from her.

lol i know a close friend that had a maid escaped after so many years of service, she escaped to do abortion. he paid her the ticket back. then she called wanna come back crying and she never found better people than them. so he got emotional and did another contract. she came back to disappear in few days. of course, he felt so fool lol. every time a maid escape it costs around $2000 of different costs.

yes, these horroble things happen, but from both sides.

however, there are so many good stories too.

  2. I'm not a Saudi, but this is not unique to Saudi Arabia in the Middle East. It is also not unique in the world.

I'm not saying it isn't a bad thing, but the root problem is lack of international justice in general. The U.S. is the only developed country to vote against and reject the International Criminal Court. Most of the other countries are from the Middle East (Iraq, Yemen, Qatar and Israel; China and Libya were the others).

The U.N . is flawed and weak, but there are no better alternatives. Most world leaders are selfish and short-sighted. Most people are ignorant and uneducated. Until people learn and gain wisdom in general, the world will continue on as it always has.

Perhaps if aliens were to come down from the sky and conquer us, it would be better?

  3. yo sup

yeah definately its a not so cool story but its reality.maybe now yall probably understand where my human rights, women rights , freedom questions are comin from...

basically, radicals dont believe in such terms therefore they are sorta wantinig KSA to be like this forever.

lets say Iran, syria, u tell the folks there will be democracy immediately PPL WILL JUMP UP AND DOWN AND RUN NAKED IN THE STREETS. but if u tell the saudis that there brutal regime is taken out and there will be democracy, its gonna be total opposite.u can read some responces from these radicals they say stuff like "democracy is a waste of time, islamic(radical) regime is the way to go."and this is a funny one:"if there is democracy, the leaders would use their brains to think how to stay in power, while without democracy the "leaders" can use their brains to thnk how to develop the country"... LOL this is so funny.

daim i really given up hope on these radicals, just wish someday we would bomb them or some revolution takes place and we replace the dictatorship with a secular democrating government..

    arite peace out!@
