Question:

What do Tampa Rays do now?

What about bringing Upton back to SS, Bartlett to 3rd, trade for Marcus Thames (Detroit), play Thames in LF, Baldelli in CF...this gives them a power hitter from the right side which is what they've wanted. The Tigers only play him every 3rd day or so and he hit 20 HR before the All Star break!

  1. Rays will be fine. These guys are definitely critical parts of their success, however it's not like their on the 60-day DL. They will be back and they have guys who can fill in for now. I'm sure they would love to have CC and Longo but it's not panic time. They are still VERY capable of winning ball games and keeping the lead until those two get healthy. People who think they will just collapse because of this little setback with injuries are tards in my opinion.

  2. Yes the rays should be fine. And if just because Craford and Longoria are injured and they can't win then they are not that great for relying on 2 players. But they can play without those guy they will be good enough and make it through.

  3. Have to wait & see & if they can hold onto the lead with their recent injuries.

  4. Now we will see just how good they really are!  I think they fold and the Sox and Yankees make the playoffs.

  5. hate to say it but start looking at next year

btw I'm an Angels fan and the Ray's are the only team I'm worried about until now.

    Good luck next year

  6. Go on a ten game losing skid and let the Yankees catch up.

  7. Upton has only played 16 games at SS in his career,,,and they didn't go well (7 errors). He'd be better at 2nd with Iwmura at 3b, but Upton is horrid there too. He's a decent CF, and should probably stay there. I don't think it's to bad to have Hinske and Aybar start/split time.  Longoria and Crawford being out, really hurts the offense, and it's hard to know what to expect from Rocco, and how much/often he'll be able to play.

  8. I'm a Sox fan, but I still think the Rays will finish second, behind us... only because Longoria is out, if he wasn't hurt, they'd easily finish first. No way in h**l will Tampa fall behind the Yanks...

  9. They will win the AL East. Upton to SS would help my fantasy team :D They will trade for Gary Sheffield. Hey Tampa Bay, get your Sheff hats, they go fast!! Marcus wont be traded, until maybe next year to get someone like Dontrelle Willis.

  10. They fall to 3rd place behind the Yanks and Red Sox like they're supposed to.

  11. Reports are that they're gonna play Aybar everyday at 3rd til Longoria comes back.  Personally, I'd move Iwamora back to 3rd and put Zobrist at 2nd.  I think the RedSox would block anybody on waivers, so chances of a trade for anyone good are slim.

I never thought I'd say it, but Bonds for the league minimum is starting to sound better and better.

  12. They are in quite a pickle!

Thames would be a huge pick up, but unfortunately I don't see that happening. Aybar and Iwamura will have to split time at third, with Bartlett holding down the SS spot. Then Hinske and Gross will have to hope for the best in RF. That's the only thing they can do at this point. If they do make a waiver deal though, Thames would probably be the guy to target!
