What do Utah and Mountain Men have to do with each other?

Im doing a project in school and i need to know what the Mountain Men and Utah have to do with eachother.

  1. One lived in the other.  Hope you figure out which is which.


  2. Here are 2 clues:

    1) A mountain man is a guy who goes into the mountains to live alone, usually by trapping critters to sell their fur when he goes back to town. Or sometimes he just likes being in the wilderness better than civilisation, and builds a cabin and lives off the land.

    2) in Utah there are many many mountains, and lots of wilderness.

    For an interesting story of a mountain man, find a bio of "liver-eating Johnson" also called "Crow-killing Johnson," who lived in Montana and was famous for carrying out a personal vendetta against the Crow Indians, and was said to have et the livers of the men he killed. I'm sure if you look around you can find a good bio of a mountain man from Utah online somewhere

      

    I guess the great Jedediah Smith was in Utah for a little bit, but not to be a mountain man
