South Africa's Ernie Els isn't happy, at the very least. Els called the decision to stage the announcement on Friday, while the Accenture Match-Play tournament is in progess, as "selfish," adding "I feel sorry for the sponsor. Mondays are a good day to make statements, not Friday. This takes a lot away from the golf tournament."

Hilariously, Woods manager Mark Steinberg responded by saying "there's a very good reason for doing it on Friday, rather than next week" - and then refused to explain what that reason might be. Maybe Woods is joining a monastery next week. Back on the pro's reaction, and Geoff Ogilvy sounded annoyed too, saying "maybe we can put the tournament on hold for ten minutes to watch."
