My friend is having a baby girl (I am also prego with twins) she is 20 weeks gone and thinks that she will name the girl Phoenix, I like the name but thourght it was more of a boys name? She is nameing her Phoenix Isobella Sinths (which kinda spells pis) So she may change the spelling to Phoenix Esabella. Do you think this looks okay or is too wierd? I was just wondering...Thank you. Maybe Isabella Phoenix would work? Esabella doesn't quite work. However Evelyn is nice, or Evee or Eva if you like E ..

The spelling looks weird, the pronunciation sounds fine but it's better than having those awful three letter initials. At least she won't be made fun of, and no one will ever guess her middle initial.

I think that the name is better of being spelling Esabella. Otherwise, she would be made fun of.

What about Isabella Phoenix? I think that that is also pretty, and looks good at the same time.

Im personally not to crazy about the name Phoenix. It is more of a boys name which might create some confusion. The spelling of the whole name is also confusing and still not sure if I like the alternate to PIS...PES. You may want to keep searching. Just toss a few other names around with your friend - make suggestions. A couple girls names a really like are:

I don't like Pheonix for a girl im afraid. its very masculine.

Isobella is nice. Esabella is nice too. but it would still be PES, (piece, pez etc)

why not flip them around Isobella Pheonix.

Phoenix Isobella Sinths is gorgeous, and also Phoenix can be used as either a girls name or a boys name, and it means New Life.

As for the Pis thing, people won't notice unless people draw attention to the initials of the name.

I personally don't like Esabella, but it's still quite cute with the name Phoenix.

If she needs nicknames too how about:

Phea (Fee-uh or Fay-uh)

Nyx (Nix)

It's somewhat more popular for boys than girls.  Last year in the U.S., it was ranked #421 for boys and #714 for girls, so it's uncommon but still in use for both genders.  I'm not crazy about the name, especially on a girl, but it's really your friend's decision.

While Isabella is lovely middle name, the initials PIS are definitely to be avoided!  Esabella looks extremely odd to me, and I wouldn't pronounce it like Isabella.  I would recommend that your friend use a different middle name with a similar sound:

Phoenix Arabella

Phoenix Rosabella

Phoenix Gabriella
