I found a red grand prix gt 2000 with about 154k miles on it. When she got it she said there was about 117 or close to it and has put on highway miles. It seems very well kept the body does not have any damage ( the girl who owned it did run into a pole 2 times but had it fixed right away and it looks flawless) She did damage part of the headlight ( not the main but not the orange the middle) and orderd a new cover for it. Got leather seating put in alpine cd playr but the passanger window does not work...Shes asking 4200 for it but may go down a little bit. Do you think this car would be worth buying with the milage if i need it for summer and holiday breaks when i come home from college for the next two years.

The car overall is pretty nice and you can tell its not been beaten up and has been keept up. Engine was good and ran smooth... Any suggestions people?? I need help asap please!!!!

  1. These cars will last forever, but with those miles, I'd low-ball her.  Be prepared to walk away.  I think 4200 is too much.

  2. If you are only going to use the car for short periods, then consider renting instead.  That way you avoid the licensing costs, the yearly insurance costs, the repair bills from having the car sit while you are at college.

I would pass on this one.

    good luck.

  3. 154,000 on a 8 year old car is alot of miles.

Especially for an American made car at that.

I mean it's up to you though, it may last you a year or so if you continue to keep it in good condition and get the necessary maintenence preformed on it. Also you should definately try and get the price a little lower if you can 4200 is alot for a car with that amount of miles, even in good condition.
