What do a male cat's nipples look like?

I know male cats are supposed to have nipples, but are they supposed to stick out? My male kitten (8 months old) recently developed nipples after sneaking outside. Now we're wondering if he's a she and if she's pregnant.

  1. Look at his hind end, does he have a large outside male part (s*****m)?  If not he could be a she...but by 8 months it's usually rather obvious

  2. Hum...

Well male cats do have nipples, they are more noticable when younger  because of short fur.

Take a look at its place :

    heres how you do it:

Just pick you cat up; turn him belly up; hold his tail out of the way and look at his bottom. The bigger hole nearest the base of the tail is the a**s. Now there should be second, smaller hole for peeing immediately below the a**s. If there are two puffy mounds on either side and slightly above the peeing hole, than you have got a male. Those puffy mounds are the cat's testes.

If you still can't tell, go to your next door neighboe who owns a cat and aske him/her to look at your cat's bottom for you. he he he

Also I dont think your cat would be pragnant at 8 months if it is a girl ;)

  3. All cats have nipples, but depending on gender and if the female gets pregnant, the nipples have use and will change. Female genitalia is a small slit which is closer to the a**s instead of a little hole which is farther away, and of course the female doesn't have testes.

How long ago did you let your cat outside? And how long did it take to develop the prominent nipples? Are they pink in color? If so, your cat is probably a female and is about 3 weeks into her pregnancy.

If the nipples are getting larger, losing hair around them and are full, then you are due for kittens any time now.

Please, after the kittens are old enough (about 8 weeks), please get the cat fixed.

    Good luck!

  4. Cats CAN get pregnant as soon as they start their cycles, which can be as soon as 5 months old.

Look for the s*****m, as described in the previous answers.  That's your best bet for learning whether or not your cat is male or female.
