  1. Possibly because some are True APBT and others may be Am Staffs, etc

  2. Everything come in different shapes and sizes and colors. Its okay for pets and people to look different! Pit bull are not going to look exactly the same as other pit bulls. I would love to have a diffrent dog and make the extordinary pet

  3. Because they are over bred and mostly left to breed by back yard breeder morons

any 'good' breeder (and I use that term loosely) has a breed standard they should be breeding for. It should be a certain group of colors, certain height, weight, temperament, health, physical appearance is a must. Unfortunately people are just breeding any mongrel they find that looks close and that's why you'll see so many variations.

  4. why do all people look different

  5. Because many breeds that aren't pit bulls are mistaken for pit bulls.    There is a quiz find the pit bull

    http://www.pitbullsontheweb.com/petbull/...

    Go to the link above.

It took me one try but the first time I took it it took me 6 tries.

You will see that many people mistake other dogs for Pit bulls (thanks to the media)

ADD:I'm not sure I don't even think the second photo you have up is a pit bull, it might be a pit mix  but to me he looks like a Cane Corso  or he could be a pit pumped up on steroids.   Pits are actually a pretty lean dog, they are built but they aren't sumo wrestlers

Another add:  Yes that one from dogbreedinfo.com is.  His name is Zepplin and i've spoke with his owner on several occaisions on dogster.com.    He is a great dog

  6. Well, there are many different types of pit bulls, like blue nosed, red, etc.

And all dogs are really gonna look different.

Please make best answer, never gotten one!!

  7. Say what?

    Do you mean *why*?

Because the majority of them are badly bred and mutilated as puppies. Razors Edge pit bulls ruined the line as well. Razors Edge is an APBT breeding program that was accredited as being a proper breeding facility and that bred excellent tempered APBTs, but as it turns out they were MIXING other dogs with APBTs and selling them as pure breeds.

Then you have the BYBs who don't know squat about the breed and just want to add to the improper breeding regimen, and you end up with APBTs of all shapes and sizes.

AND most people can't recognize an APBT when they see one. An English Bull Terrier somehow looks EXACTLY like an APBT, and then people breed them together and then you've got screwed up "APBTs" and no one has a clue.

And then the media reports on reported APBT bites, and the dog in question isn't even an APBT at all! SO then suddenly a Lab/Shepherd mix is an APBT, or a Dane/Kelpie mix is an APBT, I mean, COME ON!

ADD> Evan, there is only ONE APBT. The blue nose, red nose, red brindle, black brindle, black brindle, cream brindle, etc are not seperate breeds. They are color variations.

There is also no "companion" line, "working" line, or "show" line. They are all the same dog. There is no size variation that would make those standards. Smaller pit bulls are just smaller pit bulls. Stronger pit bulls are just stronger pit bulls. I don't have a "show" pit bull, but he's beautiful, and he definitely wasn't from a breeder.

    ---

THATS why we have so many "different" APBT's.

ADD 2> The first one gave me an error message, but the second one is absolutely badly bred. The dog in the second photo has the 'tell tale' chain around its neck which means that its most likely used for fighting (a heavy chain weighs the dogs neck down, which means it has to gain muscle to hold its head up). The stock of the body is all wrong and the head is the wrong shape.
