  1. $2.75 per hour for my almost 8 month old son.

She is a licensed child care provider.  : )

Don't you love it when young teens on here think they should be paid more than a professional provider.

  2. We are very fortunate to live in a small town where childcare costs are low, as well as most daycare providers being in- home providers instead of big daycare facilities so the children get much more one on one attention.

My son is just shy of 8 months old.  I pay $1.75/hour for daycare, with no minimum hours required (all she asks is that I let her know in advance if he will not be there on a certain day, unless of course it's due to illness which just happens).  She is also enrolled in a state funded food program for daycare providers, so she provides his formula (brand of MY choice, not just a generic brand) as well as all of his "solids" (ie baby food, juice, crackers/snacks when he gets to that stage).

Again, we're exceptionally lucky.  His daycare provider only has 4 other children total plus her own 6 yr old grandson until he starts school in August.  Two of the other little ones are both part time, and she has helpers that come on the two days a week where all 5 children are there.  She also has over 20 years of experience and is just WONDERFUL!!  Small town living has it's perks!

For a 45 hour week (mon-fri 8am-5pm) we pay $78.75, and are only required to provide our own diapers and wipes.

EDIT:  She is a state licensed child care provider and is licensed for up to 12 children, but prefers to have no more than 6 so that each child receives more one on one attention.

  3. I pay 2.00 an hour per kid in KS.

I know in Kansas City KS it's like 4 an hour per kid.  I couldn't imagine paying that, but the higher the living expenses the more you pay

  4. I have a 5 yr old son who is in full time school. I attend university so I have a registered childminder that takes him and picks him up most days, she does 11 hours a week for me. I pay her £4 an hour (about $8 I think!) that's about the going hourly rate in this part of the world (south wales UK) but it does vary slightly.

  5. my daughter is 3 and I pay $350 a week for daycare. but it's not a in home daycare it's a regular school type daycare.

  6. i just recently quit as a home childcare provider.  the going rate in hampton roads, va is $125-150/week full time for an infant, $110-$125 full time for 1-3/week, once fully potty trained $80-100/week.  after/before school runs around $80/week.  you can find people who charge cheaper but you get what you pay for.  we have a shortage for home providers here, at least good ones, especially for infants.  some people put their name on a waiting list before they are even pregnant!

  7. In Cali. $7.50/Hr.

    For children under 5

    $6/ hr. for older children.
