  1. Christianity believe we are simply gone until the Ressurrection.  Athiests believe the same with a different result. There is nothing.  I believe there is something that I will never know and I can't question. We are not alone.  Look into the Bible.  Intelligent design and language among humans can't be proven beyond 8,000 years.  Hominid life was longer.  Geological life is at least 4 billion.  We are all special.

  2. We turn into worm food.

  3. we rot in the earth?

  4. they think that nuthin happens but some goes to heaven some to h**l

  5. Total stillness, peace. No more saturday masses to attend, sunday schools, no more reading the Bible. If you had been a worthy person on earth, a few people might remember you for a while.

  6. We rot in the ground.

We don't go to some place in the sky, that nobody has ever seen.

I have been on a plane a few times and all that is up there is more clouds.

  7. lights out!

  8. we replenish the earth.  our decomp provides the nutrients for a future living creature.

  9. they think nothing happens.that when they die, they just die they dont go 2 h**l or heaven b/c they dont belive in that.

  10. total darkness, no emotions, feelings, what so ever. just dead.

  11. Well, were made from the earth, so I guess our chemical reaction stops...we go back to earth.

Just cause it's most based on proof, and I don't think theres gonna be some answers to everything when we die.

  12. I can't speak for us all, but I believe a majority think we will cease to being.  Loss of memory, senses, and ability to think.  And your body stops bodily functions, and our bodies begin to decompose if not cremated or frozen.

But this is the basics that most if not all atheists think.  There are other suggestions that atheists point out, but this one in particular is my belief.

  13. The first thing that usually happens is many body functions stop:  Synapses stop firing, the heart stops pumping blood, etc.  In fact it is the cessation of such things that defines death.  Depending on the circumstances, fingernails and hair may continue to grow for a while.  Many people relieve themselves one last time.  If the body is still intact, blood pools to one side.   Later, riger sets in.   Left unattended,  most bodies will begin to decay.

What happens to our remains depends on your wishes, the actions of those you leave behind and the  circumstances of your death.

Personally, I hope they stick me in an oven and turn me to ashes.

  14. Take the world you know right now. Have the span of the entire universe to the point at which you die between your left, and your right hand. You need to make the time span make sense other than blowing all these questions on one simple and uncreative answer, God.

When we die, we die, dieing is having this scientific vortex take act on us, and show the world in the most natural way possible that believe it or not, the most important things are not always the new iPod or hybrid car, but that the world keeps on going. We die for a reason, not to make soil for trees, not to go to heaven, but to prove to our subconcious minds that this planeet earth and the universe around it will never stop continueing on because death, reproduction and intelligence are way more important than where we go or what happens to us after the inconveniant stopping of our hearts or the terminal disease we have.

  15. I kind of hesitate to speak for all atheists but here goes. When we die we... keep doing the same thing we did as when we lived. Our cells keep interacting with the environment just like they always have. We may be dead, but we still have long and exciting times ahead of us, what with termites and hurricanes and the like.

  16. The evidence shows the extent of worms and maggot larvae that take over, eventually turning what's left of your carcass to dust.

  17. The way this is question is asked tells a lot about the person who wrote this. Being a atheist does not necessarily mean some of us are without some kind of fate. Believing in atheism is by itself a faith. Some of us are actually Biblical experts and have studied human beliefs quite thoroughly.  The cost of being extremely well educated ..makes you question the basis of belief and faith.

  18. Nothing. Its over. Eternal sleep without dreams.

  19. The same thing that happened to us before we were born.

  20. They think that nothing happens i tink

  21. My understanding is they think ...we die. That's it. Nothing else

  22. We become worm food.

  23. Nothing. They believe that, being animals or products of evolution, they die just like other animals or plants. There's no soul and religion is just something created to comfort us. We, having more complex brain processes, are capable of imagining abstract conditions such as spirituality--that doesn't make our imaginings true.
