What do autistic.children/adults see?

I have many questions on this. It's just been bugging me ever since I knew my brother was autisitic.

Are their perspective on life different from ours?

Like what they feel, hear, and see?

What do they dream of?

What they see a simple portirat of a family or even a cartoon.

Does the simple sound of the rain bother them?

Do majority of autistic children grow out of it?

Will they remember if they do?

Last question.. Where did autisim come from? How did it begin.

Any help will do. Please and thank you.

  1. my cousin is austistic, he is 12 years old i don't know if i can anwser your question but thier brain is missing something so it can't make the body speak, listen or move properly. my cousin can't speak properly and doesn't know whats write from wrong, it is like his brain doesn't develop new information so he kinda acts like a toddler not knowing where he is or what he is doing

    hope it helps

  2. I found this online.

My little brother has autism and I don't know if it is like this but it seemed like maybe it was close.

I know they do not grow out of it. They are always autistic but many learn to manage it through behavioral intervention.

    My brother LOVES rain.

I know my brother has normal dreams because he wakes up saying things "Grumpy bath" or "Shoot hoop". He was dreaming of the 7 dwarfs or basketball it would appear.

No one knows how it began. Thomas Jefferson probably had a form of it and so did his sister. Einstein had it. Da Vinci probably had it. In fact it has probably been with us under different names for centuries and centuries.

I know my little brother hates light touch. I hates loud noise unless he is making it. He has a lot of sensory needs and that leads to making terrible messes.

Like most autistic kids he knows he is different but he grows more everyday.

There are many autistic people who are adults who speak out about it but they are still considered autistic and still have trouble in life because of it. People like Temple Grandin, Steven Shore, Marty Murphy, Sean Barron, Jerry Newport, Mary Newport, Matthew Laborteaux, Donna Williams, Lucy Blackman and Liane Holliday Willey are all autistic adults who are successful and talk about liviing with autism. You can get information on any of them and they might explain things better. The Sean Barron book is very good.

Also the book The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime helped me understand my brother a little bit better but I think the author is a teacher of autistic kids, not autistic himself.

    Hope this helped.

  3. Kids don't grow out of autism but we can help them with behavioral management and other social skills training like taking them out in the community and letting them see how we act and modeling socially correct bahavior.Autism is a disorder that affects about one in 150 kids now and it growing fast.It is sort of like being locked in a dark room by yourself for a long time and then left out into the world where society has changed more than what you remember  and you have to try to cope with it.Sometimes they can deal with noises and then sometimes they are so bothered with them that they can fly into a rage over the same noise.

  4. Auties and Aspies have a different perspective on life and they way they live their life.

They experience life through a different way.

    They have sensory issues.

Some hate loud noise and some do not.

Some do not like to be touched and some do not mind being touched.

Some have extra sensitive eyesight that they are able to see the constant flicker that comes from fluorescent lighting whereas unaffected people can not see it.

Autism and Aspergers Syndrome is NOT curable. Autism and Aspergers Syndrome IS with a person for life.

I am a parent of a only child that was born with Autism and Mental Retardation.

  5. nobody knows where autrism came from-but there seems to be a genetic predisposition-

They see things like we do, but can Perceive them differnently

Some may focus on a small detail in the picture or sound

or may pereive teh colors to be more dull or more briliiant

Chidlren don't grow out of it-but compensate at differnet levels-some become 'indistinguishable' from others and some need life long assistance.

Some have reported remembering they way things were and when they are able to communicate-tehy talk about it

  6. I read a book by Temple Grandin, who is an adult who has learned to successfully cope with autism.  She seemed to say that those with autism were very super-sensitive in their senses such as touch.  I believe that they experience the world just like us, but have extreme difficulty in expressing their experiences.  Autism is life-long, but some can learn to manage it.  Their memory is as good as yours and mine.  There is some thought that vaccinations are a possible cause for autism, but there isn't any scientific certainty at this point.
