  1. Most birds like robin regurgitate there food and feed it to the young. Even if you do feed these babies the odds of them serviving are slim. Sorry but thats just the way of nature... Good Luck and I hope all goes well... remember there is always a chance!!!

  2. I've rescued many birds as a kid, robins, starlings, bluejays and they all were fed the same thing. Raw hamburg, hard boiled egg (add a little mayo to hold it together) roll it up in a tiny ball and stick it on the tip of a plastic medicine dropper and gently put it in the birds mouth. Give the bird water too. You'll know when its hungry believe me it will squak! After it learns to fly,(we tought themthat too) let it go.By the way, keep the eggand hamburg in the fridge then warm it up in your hand first .The bird will think of you as its mother!

  3. You can go to your local pet store and they sell a powder, that when you add water, turns oatmeal-like. You can put it into a small syringe (also purchased at the loacl pet store) and feed it to the baby. Know this, a baby bird must be fed wevery several hours - so, if you have ajob, plan on bringing the baby in to work with you.

Good luck to you - remember, nature has its rules. So, if the baby dies, it was not your fault - you tried.

  4. Pureed grubs may work....  good luck

  5. well, i had three baby robins in a tree near my house, and the mother would bring worms to them, and chew the worms up for them

  6. most birds eat chewed worms from their mother. i had an experience like this once. I would take the baby bird to the local animal control office and have them deal with it. other than that, just feed the baby bird chewed (or otherwise mashed up to a pulp) worms. you can go to a bait shop and get plenty of worms to do so.

  7. If you are absolutely sure that both parents are dead, the bird will need help that you cannot provide.   Please contact a licensed wildlife rehabilitator.  They are trained, equipped, and the only people who are legally permitted to care for native wild birds.

There are thousands of them, look for one in your area.

Check this link for worldwide listings:

In the US, rehabilitation is regulated by the Federal government and State DNR (Dept of Natural Resources), or Dept of Fish and Game depts. Services are free to the public, as all native wild birds are protected by federal law.

There are several sites with listing of rehabbers, although the easiest way to find one is to search Yahoo! or Google for "wildlife rehabilitation + your state (try both full and abbreviated)". Also search on "DNR rehabilitation + your state".

You may be able to find a contact for a nearby rehabber through your local humane society, animal shelter, or police department.
