What do barnacles eat, besides plankton?

My friend found a cluster of goose barnacles today at the beach, and wants me to take care of them! I have no clue what to do; I'd feel horrible if they died. What kinds of things can I feed them (since I can't get plankton) to keep them from dying?

  1. Barnacles stick with their strong muscles. They open up a bit of their shell to eat when needed.

They eat plankton, algae, bacteria, and some feed on general small organisms. When they eat make sure water is around it because they are filter feeders.

If you can't get these try some tiny bugs in the garden?

  2. copepods, isopods and amphipods.
