  1. Sometimes they are replaced by briefs and just thrown out.

  2. Some train the next generation, some stick around the sport in other capacities, a lot are investing outside the sport now, look at Floyd Mayweather, he is putting his face up everywhere setting the table for the future.

  3. Become doorman for night clubs

    Or design fry pans.

    Become trainers

    Promoters .

    Lecture tours

    Get jobs.

  4. Spend all the money that they earned.

  5. It depends.  If they were a huge star and earned millions, then they can just live the rest of their lives living the "good life" and enjoy being rich.  Many times, however boxers will waste their money on material things and end up being poor- Mike Tyson, Roberto Duran, etc. and they end up having to make unsuccessful comebacks.  Other times if they did not earn all that money and were not huge stars, they get jobs and work like the rest of the population which can be hard for them because with a lot of boxers, the only thing that they know how to do is fight, so its difficult for them to get a good-paying job without experience in anything else.  A very rare percentage of retired fighters become entrepreneurs and enter into the promotional business or other ventures such as Oscar De La Hoya (not retired yet) or Sugar Ray Leonard.  In their cases, they were extremely popular to begin with and always had a lot going for them.  They also can become trainers which can sometimes work well- Freddie Roach, Buddy McGirt, Ronnie Shields, etc.  The former heavyweight contender Gerry Cooney came up with a fighter league that helps retired boxers get good paying jobs, because Cooney was a fighter himself, so he knows how difficult it is for a fighter when they retire.
