  1. Capacitors are a band aid for an inadequate power system.

When your system hits it draws a lot of power from your alternator. The capacitor acts as a back up reservoir that hold additional power.

The problem is that after the capacitor is drained of its power, the alternator now has to power your amp and recharge the capacitor.

If you install your system and have electrical problems such as dimming headlights you should start by upgrading the "big 3" (do a quick google for more info on this) and install a high output alternator.

  2. They drain your wallet. Save your money.

  3. Capacitors do help, contrary to what the others said. A Cap will add lots of dynamic headroom to mids, and make bass much tighter sounding. If your lights are dimming and you don't want to spend big bucks to get a high output alternator...get a Batcap  google it, they are around 100 dollars and worth every penny.
