  1. nothing other than the fact the chicle is spanish for gum... the type of gum you are thinking of (I think) is chicklets.

  3. Chicle comes from nahuatl(aztec language) and was used by the natives in south eastern mexico , most of them had very clean teeths thanks for that.

    After ex president Antonio Lopez de Santa Ana run in exiled in the 1860's to the United States he took a considerable amount of Chicle with him. Being him a mexican from the east he had the habit of chewing gum, When he met Thomas Adams, the american saw an oportunity of making that resine into hard rubber as a subtitute for Caucho, Adams went into business with Santa Ana but Chicle fail in experimental attempts...But he saw Santa Ana´s habit of chewing the stuff and he tried adding sugar to it, and then the Idea of making that resine into a candy appeared.. and thats when Chiclet´s Adams started.

  4. Natural chicle comes from a Mexican tree.
