  2. They will eat anything that they eat during the rest of the day.  There is no such thing as a separate meal called breakfast and so fish, meat, fruit, and so on are all eaten.  In addition, there is no order to the serving of the food.

However, in the more western influenced places such as Beijing and Shanghai, there is a tendency to adopt western style breakfasts, particularly among the richer people.

  3. diddles, vitals and Lin-Wa mostly and sometimes puntang

  4. Ooo..I love your question=)

I am Malaysian Chinese and I must say the Chinese here are spoilt for choice=P(good thing!) We choose from a wide array of foods from noodles, rice, bread, porridge, dumplings and many more.(And then you have wide choices of noodles or rice or porridge to choose from!!)Besides that, the Malaysian Chinese also have this thing called 'kuih' more like similar to an English pastry or cake.

Anyway, I'll share something interesting with you=)

In Klang,Selangor,Malaysia... the Chinese people there usually eat a dish called BAK KUT TEH for breakfast.Have you ever heard of it?(go goole it=P)It is really yummy soup made from  mixing herbs, pork meat, vege, mushroom and beancurd skin. They usually serve the soup with rice and have a cup of hot chinese tea over it =). If you ever come accross it...do try it,but i must say,the best ones are served in Subang and Klang,Malaysia.

Then again, if you are looking for something that is pretty English=) Then come to Malaysia and enjoy Kopitiam style(literal translation is coffeeshop but kopitiam is typically a coffeeshop owned by Chinese here). They usually serve Kaya Toast with half-boil egg and awesome local coffee. (*.*)

[Kaya is a coconut egg jam]

    YUM!

  5. sometimes they often have brunch.. thats in between lunch and breakfast I saw them eating soup and rice with fresh fruits

  6. Noodles and eggs

  7. hm.... good question. Most of the time .....rice...and a few cold dishes, usually vegetable. but  throughout years and generations it just became more and more English. eg toast and bacon, french toasts. But it depends on where in China you are looking at.   Different regions have different breakfasts believe it or not, for example, in Shanghai, they have this fried ...um... if you translate it in to English, it would be called  "fried strips" , Buns ,soy milk with veggies in it(it actually taste good!!) . In other places, there is noodles, wongtong( pastry with filling ) and more!^.^

  8. okay, to the guy who called you raciest..chill.

anyway though, they probably eat rice. it's like 96% of

    their diet!

  9. Rice crispies :P

  10. they probably eat everything every1 els eats but probably mainly eggs..

  11. Well I'm chinese and every morning I wake up to a healty breakfast that may include: man tao (steamed dough), Congee, pasteries, fish, rice, noodles, fruits, tea, eggs.... but keep in mind like Americans may eat left over pizza for breakfast Chinese people also eat food from different meals...like our breakfast for dinner they could or do have something like that too. so there's no planed meal that they HAVE  to eat every morining, but it's important to eat breakfast!

  12. When I was in HongKong the family I was working with eat congee (rice porridge with beaten eggs in it) and steam sliced bread , hot tea at 6:00 am. then we eat light lunch around 1:00 am but dinner is 9:00pm 13 course.

  13. rice with vegetables

congee - its like rice porridge with fried wonton or maybe a donut like fried bread -- this is served in Guangzhou, Hong Kong

but most chinese  would have rice, vegetables, and maybe some meat

    omelette

some people would even eat dimsum on Sunday mornings.

I'm glad that you're curious what Chinese eat. But trying different cuisines gives you a whole new perspective about understanding other people's cultures, and their points of views towards cooking.

  14. most chinese with american-chinese kids eat congee (a rice soup thing with prunes) and steamed buns with red bean paste or pork. They also have pastries (like danishes) and regular (unhealthyish) stuff like poptarts. Since chinese kinda tend to be lactose-sensitive they also drink soymilk. and have fruit like bananas.
