  1. They can't with the exception of civil service civilians serving at overseas bases.


  2. if you live overseas you can live on base as a civilian if you are contracted to go there...and you live for free just like the active duty do..you pay your phone bill and internet..in japan we didnt have cable or anything else..lol in the states i do not believe you are allowed to live on base though

  3. Civilians can't live on a Military Base.  Only active duty Service Members and their families.  Well, single service members stay in the Barracks, so that covers everyone.


  4. If your a civilian contractor and you're hired to work overseas you're either provided housing on base or given a housing allowance just like the military personnel.

  5. All of yall are wrong.

    Some Army posts and Air Force bases have privatized housing and civilians are allowed to live there--they're trying to make a profit.  Usually the homes go to the military families first, then single troops, then after that retired military and government workers. If they still have housing that is available any civilian can live there.

    Why would they want to live there? Convenience, Safety, Security....
