  1. They look for good players

  2. you can run the fast break and hit the open man

you can create shots for others in half court

you don't turn the ball over!!!!!!

and yo hit the open man quickly before defenders

    can react.

you can't do all of that if you can't handle the ball better

    than everyone else. so practice.

  3. They look for players that can handle the ball well. so if you can dribble well without turning over the ball to the other team.

If you can make good passes that will lead to a basket. And if you can shoot well, no you will not be making half the teams shots but occasionally you will take a three pointer or run off a pick and roll for an easy layup but thats about it for points for the point guard. You should also be able to defend well as in defending the opposing teams point guard so you can stop their plays as well. You should be able to do good plays when the coach instructs you as in solid passes so that the play runs well without flaws. You passes should be fast so that it gets to your teammates without the opposing team intercepting the ball.

Hope I helped :) Do all those things well and surely you will be picked for point guard position

  4. They look for someone who sees the whole court at all times, is a descent to good dribbler, and someone who isn't a ball hog.  Being a point guard you have the responsibility to start every play and see where the best pass would be.  If the best option is to drive, pass, or shoot.  You also have to be able to read the defense to see what play would be the best.  I hope i helped =]

  5. You have to be able to see the court, and have good ball handling for one.  You have to be a good passer, and remember the plays and offense because you will be the beginning of most of them.  And the final thing is a good outside shot that you can knockdown from time to time when open.
