Crab cakes can be delicious or horrible.  They shouldn't have any transfat at all unless you buy frozen from the store.  Ideally, a crab cake is crunchy on the outside, smooth and creamy on the inside.  Slightly tangy with vinegar and a bit of a fish flavor.  Imagine roasted whitefish with vinegar and a bit of mayo and you have the typical crabcake.  Some have a bit of red pepper for a kick.  If you have one you don't like, don't assume you don't like them at all. I make some really great crabcakes and lousiana style is excellent.  But a lot of those cheap frozen ones taste like ***.

They are wonderful---if they are made well...

Just the right amt. of spices, good lump crab meat, not too much filler(bread crumbs).YUMMMM

Who cares what the calorie count is,  they are delicious, you only eat about one or two.

And they are an appetizer or treat....and only had once in a while....not for everyday
