  1. yes they do the country home r big and spacious and lovely

    large breads love them

if it a sheep dog that is again will enjoy

  2. If they have bad owners sure. My cousins great uncles etc all use their dogs for hunting and pest control. A few also work cattle

  3. They should not be running around.  They could get hit by cars (they go really fast out here), killed by wild animals, shot by farmers, poisoned or many other things.  Dogs running loose in the country are just as irritating as in the city, and if they harass livestock they can cost a farmer thousands of dollars.  They can also do quite a lot of damage to wild animals as well.

My dogs are like city dogs.  They are in the house during the day, they have a fenced yard, and they go for walks.

  4. Dogs running loose in the country are called nuisance dogs and are dealt with harshly. We don't have easy access to dog shelters or animal control officers. Even when they do show up the dog(s) are usually gone.

More often than not they are hunted down and shot before they start going after the livestock.

Sorry to be so blunt but that is the harsh reality of country life. Farmers have to protect their investments.

  5. No more so than in cities, and less in most cases.

I live in a small town in Kansas and we very rarely will see a stray dog (cats, yes). However, I adopted a DAL that was found running loose in Ft. Worth, Texas -- a huge city. At the time, we were told stray animals were a very big problem there.

My dog gets walks, lives inside and has a fenced back yard.
