This question has always bothered me. What do extras on movies and TV shows talk about? Or do they just move their mouths?

  1. Peas and Carrots! :D

  2. i dunno about in films but on stage we either pretend to talk

    or we say rhubarb

    haha

  3. no they talk. some of them talk about what's going on in the scene really getting into it. and some of them talk about the weirdest s**+* in the world.

sometimes i read their lips :)

  4. They probably give them a subject before hand....because there will be someone out there, who reads lips.  They want control over complaints from extra's talking about something pornographic during their scenes.

  5. sometimes they're given a list of topics to talk quietly about, like the weather, food, or how their day is going.

  6. random stuff or have a real conversation

  7. I have also wondered, so hope someone who answers knows.

  8. When I've worked as an extra, we usually end up talking about the food and the weather.

    Usual garbage chit-chat.

  9. They could just be lipping the word 'watermelon.'

It seriously looks like you are having an actual, in depth conversation.

  10. I've always wondered too!

"Hey, After I finish my sentence, you smile and say something back, so it looks lilke we're having a real conversation."

"Sounds like a plan. My mom is my aunt."

  11. They are asked to make small talk.  I've been in plays and that's what the director asked us to do.  Just nonsensical small talk.

    DFf

  12. haha, we recently did a small play and when I was in the background talking to others I would be saying the randomest things to see if I could get anyone to laugh. They tried their hardest but during the proformance one of the girls just burst out laughing.

  13. lol idk good as question tho
