Ive had my rabbit for about two months. When i first got him he was so tiny that my mom thought he wouldn't make it. Now hes about the size of a dwarf rabbit but i really want him to grow as big as he can. I believe hes a lop ear bunny but I'm not sure. He has floppy ears and fur longer than most rabbits ive seen..

  1. First find out what breed of rabbit you have.  That will tell you how big your rabbit SHOULD be.  Check out the ARBA's website - it's the AKC or the rabbit world.  There are breed photos (with max show weights) there.  Click on the photos for more breed info.

The best thing to do is to keep your rabbit's cage and food/water dishes clean and feed quality food.  That usually means making a trip to your local feed store, not a pet shop to buy pellets and hay.  The feed shops have the high quality, fresh pellets and nice, bulk hays.  Ask the clerk to help you find the right brand and formula for your rabbit.

The amount of pellets you give depends on the size and condition of your rabbit.  I give as much pellets as my rabbits can finish off in half a day or less.  It's not good to leave unfinished pellets in the dish.  They pick up moisture from the air easily and even if the bowl is full, your rabbit might not eat what is there because it doesn't taste so good anymore.  Better to feed once a day and dump out any uneaten pellets at the next feeding and give fresh pellets again.

Hay is also an important part of the diet.  Balance in everything.

Keep in mind that, from your description, your rabbit will most likely be full grown by 6 months of age.  Be careful not to over feed or give too many treats (including carrots, bananas, and other fruit).  Rabbits should be kept lean and well muscled.  You should not be able to easily feel the vertebrae on the spine OR be able to feel globs of fat.  An obese rabbit is a very sick rabbit.  I have seen several come into our local shelter.  It is very sad.

  2. Lots of fresh veggies and timothy hay.

  3. hello there

you cannot accelerate the growth rate of any animal.you just need to feed him daily and give him proper care.

feeding time is this:(feed rabbits at least 2 times a day.if you want, you may feed it 3 times a day

♦hay is given every time to ensure dental health.this is the most important part of the meal.contrary to the popular belief, hay, not pellets,is the most important meal.pellets are only second most important meal.

♦1/4 cups of pellets are given every meal.

♦greens, fruits and vegetables are given only as a treat once a day.preferably during night time.because rabbits need more food during night than they do during the day.

DO NOT force feed it in hope it will grow faster.rabbits at that age grow incredibly fast as they reach maturity.so no worries about that.

diarrhea is one of the most common diseases your rabbit may get.so never give too much vegetables.once a day should be fine.

avoid obesity as much as possible, okay?don't give too much food again.obesity will cause complications to the rabbit

    have a nice day!

  4. most lops don't grow very big, their just fluffy. Give him a few more months and if he doesn't grow any bigger then that's the biggest he is going to get.

  5. feed it regularly. give it lettuce and carrrots, when it is older give it timothy hay. give your rabbit dry pellets, but they cant eat it if they are younger than 8 months. dont force it, it will take time. my rabbit was the same. but all rabbits are different, so check online:)

  6. The most important part of your rabbits diet will be his rabbit pellets. You can buy the pellets at your local pet store. The pellet should be 14% protein or higher. You should feed the rabbit twice a day. Give him a small amount in the morning and another meal at night. You want him to have food available at all times but you don't want to leave the food sitting around to become stale as he will not eat it. It is better to offer fresh food twice a day than to give him all the food at once and have half of it wasted.

Rabbits also love to eat hay. You should offer him hay everyday for nibbling throughout the day.

Rabbits also love fresh vegetables. They love grass and weeds, carrots, and green beans. They also enjoy eating apples. Cabbage is not a good choice because it is very gassy and may make your rabbit feel sick and uncomfortable.

Rabbits love to chew. They do this to keep their teeth from growing too long. Apple tree branches are a good thing to give the rabbit to chew on.

Fresh clean water should be available for your rabbit at all times.

  11. Well you can NOT feed him alot just to make him bigger because if you do he can become obese and die! Just let him grow on his own! If you want a big rabbit buy a flemish giant!
