Question:

What do fire bellied toads eat?

I have a fire bellied toad and its not eating the frozen bloodworms.. i dont know if its not hungry or he just doesnt like it, do they eat those?

What else can they eat? And I know they can eat crickets already

  1. If you know they eat crickets they don't NEED to eat anything else. Just get some crickets at the pet store and put one in every once in a while.


  2. Yeah try giving him some live food, crickets like you said or also live mealworms or bloodworms. Seeing the food moving around should get him more excited to eat. Also bugs that are alive let out certain smells and sounds that will excite the predator in your frog. :) You can get live bugs at most pet stores.

  3. fire belly need food that moves under it own power. in other words live bugs. soft bodied inverts are best (worms slus snails) or aquatic livefoods such as live bloodworms brine shrimp of tubifex (remeber never take bugs from outside to feed your pet they may have disease becteria or parasites that can harm or kill your toads)

    crickets and mealworms can also be fed to them
