If this guy plays professionally, he's going to need you to be very patient and understanding.  Most professional players (I mean the guys who play tournaments for a living) barely get by financially while looking for their break.  Its a lot of pressure, a ton of ups and downs, and hailstorms of dissapointment.

And you need to know his first love will always be the game.  If he's forced to choose between the game and you-- you will lose.
