  1. Just about anything that fits in their mouths.

    Usually, they eat detritus that's fallen to the rocks and substrate (such as uneaten bits of food) and some types of algae. If an animal dies in the tank, they'll start eating the body, but it's rare that they'll kill another animals, with the exception of some snail species and other hermit crabs to steal their shells.

  3. hermit crabs good question if u have liverock in ure tank they dont need any target feeding they will eat about anything like algae to grass and mine would eat flakes and if u dont have live rock im sure he would find anything to eat u would be surprised what they eat
