  1. whatever they can, in my area, they usually find a abandoned home and use that for shelter, if they haven't already.

  2. I have a dear friend that when he was a teenager, he lived on the streets.  He has told me about climbing into those donation boxes... covering himself with newspaper and cardboard.

  3. Ride the subway.

  4. homeless shelters and churches open their doors to them for longer hours. i was in chicago during a very cold time (for me, im texan) negative 30 wind chill. the shelters weren't even full!! there were a lot of homeless people who refused to be in a warm place and stuck it out.

  5. Find it anywhere they can....under a bridge, in a box, doorways, airports, stores, public bathrooms.
