Question:

What do honey producers do when Africanized honey bees infect their colony's?

do they have to kill off thier entire colony?

  1. That has been the treatment, but recently I heard that if they can kill the queen, they can get a better hybrid which isn't so dangerous AND gives more honey.

  3. in south america they are keeping hybrid bees. they are trying to breed for a bit more docility but they do get good yields. in africa too, i saw film of one chap working with hybrid bees, without even a net, he was getting stung but didnt seem to care....

  4. learn to speak afrikaans? no, i suppose they'd have to get rid of them all.

  5. depending on the degree the farmers usually they remove the africanized  queen and kill the larvae of a future queens and substitute for an European queen to reverse the africanisation of the beehive if this doe not work they destroy the beehive
