Question:

What do house spiders eat?

I have two spiders that I found in my home. One is all black and the other is white, grey and black. I don't know what to feed them. I've tried a fruit fly, my guess it was too small. I then tried a smallish flying ant, still they didn't eat it. What can I give them?

  1. Try a mosquito.  The insects you've tried just may be too big.  Or Maybe your spider isn't hungry yet.  Who knows how often they eat anyways.  Maybe they'll only eat things that get trapped in their webs alive.  That would let their instinct kick in so they could mummify the thing and drink its blood.  Your spider just might not know what to do with an insect handed to him/her ready to eat.

  2. give them something large like a catipillar or a cricket ect.

  3. they dont eat dead food, i found a gian t wolf spider in my house before so i caught it, and fed it crickets as i have a pet lizard, the spider liv ed for about 9 months.

  4. Can give it baby crickets, very small, depends on the spider's size and it  depends on housing situation. Let it build a web somewhere, place sticks or a hide spot . It's in their nature to hunt the prey, and most do use a web to catch or wrap food in. You can also try baby moths
