Lol, I feel so silly, I was just about to get my children ready to put them to bed and there is a wasp flying around in and out of the bed rooms...

I am really scared of wasps and the buzzing sound they make scares me even more. My son was crying he is 5 years old. I don't want to put my children to bed with that thing flying around. I have opened the windows in hope that it will fly out, Is there any thing i can do to get rid of it quicker?

  1. Do you have a vacuum cleaner with a hose attachment?  That usually does the trick in our house.

  2. If it's getting dark where you are, make sure all your upstairs lights are off and then open all the windows in the room it's in. Try and shut the door on it if you can.  The wasp should be attracted to the light left outside and fly out.

  3. Run after it with a vaccum cleaner hose.  lol its funny but works sometimes... ive done it!

  4. RUN in fast ..open the window wide and leave it a while ...nasty things !

  5. open the windows and vacate to another part of the house for a bit. Or try and swat it or vacuum it up if you bear it. I hope you kill the gross thing.

  6. have you got any wasp/fly spray? im exactly the same as you and always have a can spare. It is the best way to get rid at a distance

  7. Do you have a fly swatter?  Or a rolled up paper will kill it too.  You can also try spraying it with hairspray to make their wings stick and then swat it with something after it falls to the ground.  good luck!!

  8. First off making it angry makes matters worse.  Get a long handled broom or mop or something like that and either swat it towards the open window, or smash it dead.

It is a wasp.  Unless you are allergic to it, what is the worst it can do?  It can sting you yes.  I have been stung many many times and I am no worse for wear.

You are mom now, grit your teeth and be responsible.  Allowing the children to see your fear will transpond to them and they too will fear them as well.

I am terrified of spiders, not little ones but the big huge ones larger then your hand.  Yet I have had to kill them many times when my daughter was the only one home with me.

Sometimes, we have to do things we don't want to do.  That is part of life!

Good luck and afterwards when the kids are asleep you can have a good cry and get it out of your system then when they can't see it.

  9. Go get some TOX. I'm terrified of the things, and TOX kills them within a few seconds, and it doesn't make it angrier.

EDIt: By the way, I don't work for TOX. Even though it sounds like it.

  10. Swat it.
