What do i do if i am hit by an uninsured driver?

she rear-ended me on the fwy. her car was insured but only her husband was an insured driver. she said he would report it to the insurance as if he was driving so my car would be covered. i have since not heard from her. she is also ignoring my calls now. i have the insurance info as well as her license info. what can i do, what are my rights?

  1. Call her insurance and report the claim. Don't lie. Report that she was driving.

    If her company denies coverage they should send you a letter. You then take that to your agent and report an Uninsured Motorist claim against your own policy.

    Your agent should be able to help you.

  4. you should call your insurance company and give them her information and they will go after her because your insurance does not want to pay for her mistake. If you do not have insurance then its more difficult. You will probably have to sue her and prove it was her fault. It sounds like you'll have to anyway since she wasn't covered. Thats why they have uninsured motorist and underinsured motorist which you could use if need be, if you have it.

  5. call your insurance company and let them know. if you have the information then they should be able to deal with that for you. if not then they will let you know what you should do
