What do i do if my bff's ex bf keeps talking to me?

my friend's ex bf is really nice and we used to be good friends but ever since they broke up it's been awkward because i want to hang out with him AND my friend but they dont want to be around eachother.so i end up talking to him for hours on the phone late at night about her, because she annoys him. i tell him i don't want to tlak about her b/c she's my friend. what do i do?

I think it is fine to be friends with both of them. What I do not agree with is letting him whine about her. The relationship is over so he should just shut up about her. If he continues to disrespect her than you should let him go as he does not respect your wishes or your friendship with her.
