we just bought an above ground pool and set it all up last night and started to fill it with water. after about 30 min. i went and looked at it and all the water was on one end. one end had about 2-3 inches and the other did not have even 1/2 inch. we cant dig a hole and make it level its on concrete. i told my husband lets empty the water move the pool and put dirt on the ground to make it level then put the pool back.......... would that work??? or should we even worry about a 2 -3 inch slop? i was told the walls could start to bend. (its a metal frame pool) my husband said to just fill it and if it brakes it brakes. theres got to be some thing we can do. thank you

  1. U SHOULD NOT HAVE A POOL ON TOP OF CONCRETE

  2. you should def. move it to the grass. having a pool on concrete is dangerous for kids.

  3. Above grounds are designed to go on the ground over a several inches thick sand base.  This helps protect the vinyl liner's bottom as well as create a curved cove around the perimeter for easily cleaning.

Our first above ground (we did ourselves) wasn't quite level, but not as much as yours!!  Will it break? Maybe. The key to the uprights is equal water pressure on the walls....I'm not sure when it becomes so unequal it will be a problem.  Watch the upright pilars for bending or an unusual bow to the wall.

The second key is the rail around the top.  It locks everything together.  Don't allow people to play on the rail...adult or human!!  Use a ladder, no stepping or hoping over the side.  Excess downward pressure on that rail will result in a sudden collapse of the system.

Also look at the path a sudden breach might take.  Will it endager anything.  Remember moving water carries a lot of force.

  4. Since water does "seep" it's own level.

all the "water pressure" will be on the "slope."

I hope your husband don't feel the same way,

about the brakes on the "car."
