  1. Get her treated and wash all blankets pillows stuffed animals etc. Check her head daily and pick out nits. Don't waist your money on the furniture spray, just vacuum every day for like a week.

  2. First, call all your friends and family and let anyone who has interacted with her know to check their hair and their kids' hair. This way, all of you can do it and get rid of it and no one will give it back to your daughter, particularly the person she got it from. Nix is the best lice treatment. Go ahead and purchase 2 boxes. You need to do your hair and anyone else's in the home too, and repeat in 2 weeks to kill any eggs that hatch between now and then. Get the Nix Spray for her mattress, couch, and any other place she hangs out in often.

  3. oooo im so sorry. i unfortunatly had to go through lice myself and this did it for me.

    1. if your daughter has long hair, cut it about shoulder length...[thats what i did after two months of having it and right when i cut it they like suddenly disappeared]

this help alot when trying to get the eggs out of her hair.

    2. wash all bedding, spray furniture and mattresses and wash all clothes. [yes even clean.]

    3. put her hair over in the sink and put the shampoo in and leave it. wrap the hair in a plastic bag or something plastic and let it sit. then wash it out and the bugs should wash out a long with it. then go through and brush out the eggs. [and dispose of them of course]

they should eventually be gone if you do all of this. i know how irritating and difficult this is and i hope you get through it ok.

    hope this helped! Good luck!!

  4. You need to get the shampoo as well as the comb all of her bedding needs to be washed any brushes, combs, hair accessories need to be cleaned or thrown out, you need to check everyone in the family as well, place any stuffed animals/toys/dolls she plays with regularly into plastic bags for a couple of weeks, her clothes need to be cleaned as well.

  5. If you go to Walgreens or Rite Aid there are lice treatment shampoos you can get.  You sit here in the tub and follow the instructions, depending on how thick or long her hair is it may take two treatments to be rid of it.  There are also lice treatments for furniture, and you can always steam clean which helps rid the furniture of it.

  6. Don't forget her stuffed animals and pillows.  You don't have to wash them, but DO put them in the dryer for 45 minutes minumum.  Wash everything else.  I hate lice.  You also need to brush her hair backwards, up from the nape of the neck up.

    Good luck.

  7. color ur hair the die will kill them

  8. contrary to what some are saying lice cannot live away from the human head it is unlikely you need to treat ANYTHING but your heads...

Typically any eggs laid elsewhere will be unable to hatch and as they cannot jump they are unlikely to be able to get to a head in the time they need too- headlice are different to flea's and very weak.

I would change her pillow before she sleeps after treating, but thats all. you dont need to do anymore.

Use a special product froma  chemist- ask what they recommend- but go for a good one, with pesticides. Use a good comb one in the USA is called RID i would recommend that, i bought one there on holiday once there were two combs one long & one short.

Follow the directions- use on the WHOLE family- then comb...and then comb every day for a week and then use the treatment again to break the life cycle- and i would personally do it AGAIN a week after that to be 100% certain

  9. JUST FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS ON THE BOX. If it says to repeat in so many days, please repeat. I called my mother when my kids got it, and she said one application should do. When I was a kid, one application done good, it seemed the stuff they has was stronger. But now, if it says repeat in a few days, please repeat. Or oyu will be dealing with it for a month like I did.    Take a look at this link:

    http://kidshealth.org/parent/infections/...

I guess when you do the treatment, you only kill the live ones, and not the nits (eggs).  Then they only take so long to hatch, then so long to lay their own eggs. So if you do it again in 7-10 days, you will have killed the nits that hatched without giving them time to lay their own nits.

EDIT: If she has long hair, please dont cut it. It may be an annoyance to you and your child, but why chop her hair, when you can fix the problem???  Most doc's will call you in a script, but only enough for once. I used RID, and it tells you on the box to repeat in 7-10 days.

  10. Check out this website. http://kidshealth.org/parent/infections/...

It tells you everything you need to know on managing your daughter's condition. I was going to suggest getting over-the-counter lice medication. But you will find that some might not work due to resistance. If so, get another prescription from your doctor.

  11. go get lice shampoo at your local drugstore. Follow the directions and be sure to comb her hair well with the lice comb. Wash everything and anything that is not washable use plastic bags and leave them in plastic bags tied up or sealed for a minimum of a week to suffocate the bugs. No school untill they are gone. You can buy bags from mattress stores to bag your mattress'. GOOD LUCK!
