Ok I saw a cute girl at Walmart today and I was about going up to her saying this:

Me: Hey I like your Hair

Her: Thanks

Me: So how was your day

Her: My day was good and yours?

Me: It was alright.

I want to go more into the conversation on leading to get her number to go out for coffee or ice cream or just plain hanging out. but at the same time I don't want to come on as Desperate or creepy. Any Ideas?

How old are you? When I was 15 I might have been flattered by that, but ever since then I have learned a thing or two and would think any complete stranger that approached me in walmart was scary.

ask about how long at job and stuff like that and gradually ask her to meet with you for a soda .she will  understand and if she is interested she will agree

Do you shop here often, what part of town are you from ......... Then close the conversation by asking if she would like to grab a sandwich or coffee at the corner (walking distance).

p.s If she doesn't have time today, suggest exchanging numbers so that you still have a way of contacting her for a "social" (not date) later in the week.
