What do i do to connect to my Xbox 360 to the internet 2 play on xbox live

Im getting an Xbox 360 Elite today n i want 2 know what i need to do 2 connect to the internet so i can play on xbox live. For instance where do i connect my Ethernet cable that comes in the box n do i need 2 do anything on my computer 2 play on xbox live.

The easy part is connecting the cables.

You plug in your 360, then take the Ethernet cord and plug it in through the back and into your modem. Your modem should be by your computer and is a small box like thing with a bunch a lights flashing on it, plug it into the back of it in an available port.

Then, turn on your 360 without putting a game in so the dashboard comes up, go to system settings, which is all the way in the last tab, and go to network.

From there should be a thing called test network connection. click that and let the system find all the complicated stuff like dns and ip address.

once your connected and have a good network connection, you can sign up for x box live, either with a credit card or gift card.

The only thing you have to do to your computer is make sure you have a msn messenger account.

After all this, simply just fill in the required information for xbox live, like country and credit card number. This part takes the longest, but is well worth it because xbox live is hella fun.

well first of all who is ur internet service provider???

you can have three types of connections

1. wireless connection "easiest"

just connect a wireless network adapter at the back and connect to the wireless network you already have set at home

2. direct connection

you can connect the ethernet cable from the back of the xbox and the other end directly into the modem or the router

3. internet sharing connection  "most complicated"

this will work only if u have a router, first connect ur computer either wirelessly or with an ethernet cable to the router and then connect ur xbox with an ethernet cable to the pc or the laptop and then enable sharing on the internet connection on the pc and then it should work fine when u test the connection

If you don't have a router just use your modem  unglug click the stand by button

2. then then unplug all the cords

3. instead of the cumputers ethernet cord use the one for the 360 so its the 360 connected to your modem

4. then plug all the othrr cables back and put the modem on

5. turn on your computer and change controll panel change the Ip settings to automatic then go play xbox live :D.
