What do i do to get my driving license?

i'm 15 right now and i will turn 16 this december. i have no driving experience.

my parents promised me that they will start teaching me how to drive this ( already last) summer, but they never did. they researched and found out that they have to take some 30 hour test just so that they can teach me. i got very upset because now i have to take the driving ed. in school and i REALLY don't want to.

basically all i want to know is what should i do? how do i get my permit and then my license? is there any way my parents can teach me instead of me learning in school?

Every state is different, provided you live in America.

Search for your state's DMV on the web.

Some states require formal driver's ed, and they should.

It takes Germans about a year to finish driver's training, and they learn basic maintenance as well as rules and driving etiquette.

In California to get your permit you need to take a drivers ed class. ( I took online for 40 bucks) Then go to the dmv with the certificate you get and you birth cirtificate or social security card and take the written drivers test.(not that hard) Then you need to sign up for behind the wheel drivers training( like 280 bucks). Take your first training AND YOUR PERMIT IS VALID.

Then wait 6 months to get ur liscence
