Of course you should make friends, but more importantly, make sure to respect and be nice to your teachers.  You are stuck in the same institution with them for four years, regardless of whether or not you continue to have classes with them.

Remember high school is just a place. Don't worry you'll have fun. Join some clubs, get involved with government, help out ASB and have a positive attitude. The more you're involved the more you will feel ownership for your high school Go to the games, show your spirit by dressing on the crazy days and be friendly and say hi to people. Good luck
