  1. try ur best, but dont let them know!

  2. The best you can so you will get the job.

  3. You have to do all you can to get this job.  But do it in a way that is fair and be a good team mate with your co-worker.  If you end up getting the job, you might supervise your co-worker and you want their cooperation.  If you loose, you still want to have a good relationship with someone higher on the food chain than you.

Not doing anything is not an option.  Your bosses might remember this attitude for any future promotions.  You owe it to your self and any who depend on you to provide the best standard of living possible.  You owe it to your employer to do the best job that you can do.  You owe it to your coworker to set a good example as a worker.

  4. You act as if you were initially interviewing for the job, and be polite and cordial to the co-worker. You don't have to kiss his or her a**, but remember that that person may become your boss, and on your way up you don't want to be wading in p**p in your dealings with him/her.

  5. Well as you are both up and competing to getting a different job in the company.. I am sure your co-worker will find out.. and you should do your best.. be professional. .. The better worker or the one who is better suited according to the manager or the boss will get the job... it's not up to you nor your co-worker.. you only can do the best to make a good impression.. and the boss will have the final say who will get the job. It might also be that there are others who applied and neither one of the two of you will get it..  then you are up against not just your co-worker but maybe there are others who also work there and asked for the job. or word has spread by a coworker and he happens to know the ideal person for the job and then the boss will consider an outsider on recommendation from someone who works in the company..  all is possible..  you just do your best.. that's all you can do and if you are professional and polite also toward your co-worker.. you can and have to be competitive but you should do it by fighting fair.. with knowledge and maturity. that will impress the boss a lot more than if you want to win against the co-worker by saying you are just the better suited person for this and by trying to get the job by using your elbows instead of your head.. xx

  6. Try your best.  If you get the job, do not brag.  If the co-worker gets the job, be happy for him.  And try your best for the job!! GL!

  7. Play fair because win of lose you will both have to continue working in the same place.  And eventually there will be another job opening.

  8. You should go about business as usual. If this co-worker knows you are up for the job, then talk to them about it. You may as well talk about it otherwise there may be some uncomfortable tension with both of you knowing and not speaking. I would just say, look, I know you are up for the "___" job too and I just want you to know I hope we can still get along after all it's just a title.
