  1. If it is not getting charge, then probably it is time to replace the battery. This time is usually two years from the day of manufature. if you iPod is new then check the USB cable or any other charger that you use.

Or best visit the nearest Apple store.

  2. if it has the wheel that you spin around to scroll and stuff, then hold the menu (top button) down and the center click button down at the same time until it restarts. If it hasn't restarted after 10 seconds, try it again.

  3. reset the ipod while it is plugged in. if it doesn't recharge after four hours you may be looking at a hardware failure on your ipod. you need to doublecheck that you are pluggeg into a functioning usb port

  4. Unfortunately, the rechargeable battery in ipod can be charged a set finite amount of times. As the battery ages, its capacity diminishes. The ipod will last less on a charge the older it gets. You can buy a new battery and install it youself but specific tools are needed. More over if you were to open it, you could set up run-of-the mill radio shack batteries in series and save money. Unless you are mechanically/electrically inclined, bring it in to an Apple service center($$$$)
