What do i do when my male betta has ovipositer?

i never had a betta so i don't know nothing about them

  1. You should have a female in with him. I always have a female and male together just for that reason. But never a male with male or female with female...............they will kill one another.


  2. Young males sometimes have ovipositors, most will go away once they get a little older, though some will actually keep these psuedo ovipositors for their entire lives. It doesn't cause any harm, so, you shouldn't do anything about it except make sure the fish is healthy and happy.

    As far as keeping bettas together, you can sometimes keep a sorority tank of females, but, never, EVER house males and females or two (or more) males together. Males and females can (chances are they will) kill each other if housed together. Even "professional" breeders have problems with males killing females or females killing males, and that's when attempting to spawn bettas, and only having them together for less than three days.

  3. Well seeing how that is a tube like structure used to lay eggs

    I don't think your male beta has one.  But I some how think you already knew that.
