What do i do with a child who uses the 2nd law of thermodynamics as an excuse to not clean their room? ?

  1. Praise your child's interest in Physics.

    Next, there are a couple of flaws. Firstly, their room is not an isolated system. That is unless they are always in there and the door is never opened... Therefore, the 2nd law does not apply.

    Furthermore, just because a system left alone will tend to become more disordered, that doesn't mean that you can't make it more ordered at regular intervals...


  2. How about: "I told you to clean your room and either you do it or you lose privileges." 2nd law of parenting, the first was the warning.
