What do i do with my DEAD AAA BATTERIES...????????

Question

Will 2 AAA batteries thrown in the trash have a significant impact on the environment? What about all the AAA batteries I discard of in my lifetime?

If it is suggested that I start disposing of them properly (until I can afford rechargeable ones with a rechargeable battery charger).... how do I go about doing it?

Where and how do I discard them properly?

According to Federal regulations, standard alkaline batteries can be disposed of in normal garbage.  Check and see if you community has more strict standards, but in most places you can dispose of them in your household trash.  Alkalines don't have any toxic (heavy metals) in their construction.
