What do i do with the negative exponents ?

if i have (2.7 x10^-1)(2x10^3)

i'm not looking for the answer to this problem but just the basic rule. what i am really confused on is what to do with the negative exponents

use the inverse: 10^-1 = 1/(10^1)

so your problem would read [2.7 x (1/10^1)](2 x 10^3)
